Article VI. Curriculum Committee
Section 1. Purpose

The purpose of the Curriculum Committee is to act as a direct liaison between students, faculty, and the administration in regards to questions of academic policy and concerns. The Curriculum Committee will keep the senate and campus at large informed of curriculum concerns and changes, hold forums for the discussion of questions of academic policy, and advocate for the improvement of curricular and academic conditions, concerns, and problems of the student body.

Section 2. Members

The Curriculum Committee shall consist of:

  1. The Chair;
  2. The Vice-Chair;
  3. The Secretary;
  4. The Ada Vice President or an appointee from the Ada Cabinet;
  5. At least one senator;
  6. A representative from each class year;
  7. At least four appointed members selected from the student body at large;
  8. One graduate student may sit on the committee.
Article VII. Committee on Elections
Section 1. Purpose

The purpose of the Committee on Elections is to supervise all-college and class elections. The Committee on Elections will supervise the balloting on all-college referendums and provide guidance for senator elections. The Committee on Elections will also oversee the response to campaign rule infractions, run candidate disqualification hearings, and oversee internal SGA impeachment proceedings.

Section 2. Members

The Committee on Elections shall consist of:

  1. The Chair;
  2. The Vice-Chair (Chair of the Committee on Appointments);
  3. The secretary;
  4. Two to three additional members.
Section 3. Impeachment

The Committee on Elections can impeach any of its members by a two-thirds majority vote of its members. Any member of the Committee on Elections may initiate an impeachment vote. An impeachment vote for the Vice-Chair of the Committee on Elections (Chair of the Committee on Appointments) must be referred to the Committee on Appointments. Possible grounds for impeachment are suspension, dismissal, permanent separation, negligence, dereliction of duty, and other infractions deemed sufficient by any member of the Committee on Elections.

Article VIII. Committee on Appointments
Section 1. Purpose

The purpose of the Committee on Appointments is to appoint students to standing, ad hoc, and newly formed college or SGA committees.

Section 2. Members

The Committee on Appointments shall consist of:

  1. The Chair (Vice-Chair of Elections);
  2. The Vice-Chair;
  3. The secretary;
  4. Two to three additional members.
Section 3. Impeachment

The Committee on Appointments can impeach any of its members by a two-thirds majority vote of its members. Any member of the Committee on Appointments may initiate an impeachment vote. The Committee on Elections must be officially notified if the Chair of the Committee on Appointments (Vice-Chair of the Committee on Elections) is impeached. Possible grounds for impeachment are suspension, dismissal, permanent separation, negligence, dereliction of duty, and other infractions deemed sufficient by any member of the Committee on Appointments.

Article IX. Finance Committee
Section 1. Purpose

The purpose of Finance Committee is to serve as a primary resource for student organizations and evaluate the allocation of the student activities fee (SAF) that is designated for student organizations. Finance committee will assist and advocate for student organizations to receive funding from alternative sources and advise organizations and their treasurers on financial matters.

Section 2. Members

The Finance Committee shall consist of:

  1. The Chair;
  2. The Vice-Chair (chair of Chartering Committee);
  3. Six to eight members-at-large;
  4. One member from the SGA Cabinet;
  5. The President of the SGA.
Article X. Chartering Committee
Section 1. Purpose

The purpose of the Chartering Committee is to read and review all legislation, guidelines, bylaws, and amendments prior to any vote in Senate and ensure coherency in all documents of governance. The Chartering Committee will also assist potential organizations in the chartering process and current organizations in updating their charters.

Section 2. Members

The Chartering Committee shall consist of:

  1. The Chair (Vice-Chair of Finance);
  2. The Vice-Chair;
  3. At least three senators.
Article XI. Student Power Coalition (SPC)
Section 1. Purpose

The purpose of the Student Power Coalition (SPC) is to make visible the ongoing white supremacy, patriarchy, homophobia and other forms of oppression on this campus. SPC will develop and maintain student power, particularly of historically, institutionally, culturally disempowered communities, perform outreach and collaboration with other student committees, clubs, or organizations, and provide care and pursue necessary action or resources to preserve or improve the wellbeing of committee members. SPC will position itself as a collective committed to the care and protection of the student body, but also to engage in monitoring administration to hold those in power accountable for harmful/uninformed decisions and actions.

Section 2. Members

SPC will maintain a culture of horizontal leadership. Membership will be made up of both Senators and other members of the student body.
