Reason #8 You Should Visit
The Pioneer spirit
In a historic announcement, beginning in the fall of 2022, Smith College will eliminate loans from its undergraduate financial aid packages for students receiving need-based institutional grants and replace the loan amount with grants from the college. Read President McCartney’s letter and the Gate article.
The majority of buildings on Smith’s campus are open to the public. Information about access to specific buildings will be updated as it becomes available. Masks are required in all indoor spaces on campus. Guided campus tours are available for prospective students and their families. Registration is required. At this time, classes are not open to visitors and we are not able to host overnight visits. Virtual opportunities to learn more about Smith, including virtual information sessions and interviews, are available.
Please consult A Culture of Care (Smith’s COVID-19 response plan) for information on maintaining a safe and healthy campus.
“I appreciate the little moments of joy throughout the new Neilson Library: Maya Lin’s original sculpture, the outdoor terrace, the sunken garden ... There’s so much to experience.”—President Kathleen McCartney
