Gym Access and Eligibility Policy

Eligibility

  • Active benefit-eligible employees (faculty and staff) as defined in the employee handbook are eligible to use the athletic facilities with a OneCard
  • Affiliates, casuals, and other employees who are non-benefit-eligible are not eligible for athletics facility access
  • Dependents (including spouses and child dependents) of active benefit-eligible employees may receive a OneCard and use the athletic facilities if they meet the following criteria:
    • Child dependents ages 16–23 with a OneCard
      • Children under 16 may not receive a OneCard but are allowed gym access when accompanied by and actively supervised by a parent/guardian
    • Current Spouse of benefit-eligible active employee
    • Are listed under the sponsoring employee’s dependents in Workday
    • An active OneCard must be presented to use the gym
    • Exclusions: Parents, domestic partners, foster children, ex-spouses, ex-domestic partners, and other relatives are not considered eligible dependents
  • Emeriti are eligible to use the athletic facilities with an Emeriti OneCard
  • Spouses of emeriti who obtain a dependent/spouse OneCard, will be allowed to use the facilities
  • Qualified staff retirees* are eligible to use the athletics facilities with a Retiree OneCard.
  • Staff retiree spouses and dependents are not eligible.

*Retirees, defined as individuals with 10+ years of service at the college who left in good standing at age 62 or older with a Retiree OneCard.

Having Trouble Accessing the Facility With Your One Card?

Active benefit-eligible employees (both faculty and staff) are eligible to use Smith College’s athletic facilities with a One Card. 

Dependents (including spouses and child dependents of active benefit-eligible employees) may receive a OneCard and use the athletic facilities provided they meet the eligibility criteria.

Note: Employees in casual, contingent, pro rata, or temporary roles do not qualify for gym access at this time. Spouses and dependents of retirees do not qualify for gym access at this time.
