College Events

The Smith community comes together for events throughout the year. From the first Rally Day in 1876, to Julia Child Day and the Sherrerd Teaching Prizes, begun in 2004, the college's annual events honor our students, faculty and alumnae for their accomplishments; bring families to campus for a taste of college life; and give students an opportunity to learn, reflect or just have fun.

Poinsettias at Christmas Vespers

Celebrate the Season

Smith College’s much-anticipated Christmas Vespers program will be held on Sunday, December 3 at 4 p.m. in John M. Greene Hall. A community-based event, the program will feature the Smith College Chorus, Glee Club, Chamber Singers and Vespers Orchestra, the Handbell Choir, a special appearance from the Campus School Chorus, and readings by members of the Smith College senior class, staff, and faculty.

The event is free and open to the public. A free-will donation will be collected for the Hampshire County Interfaith Cot Shelter Program.
