Comstock, Wilder, and Park House will be used for Summer 2019. For summer housing, you will pick your house and room assignment yourself for the weeks you sign up. Please check out the Summer Housing Prezi for more information on completing the forms.
Graduating seniors and non-Smith students are not eligible for college housing. We are providing all single occupancy rooms. This means that rooms typically used as doubles throughout the academic year will have only one occupant in summer. This means no students will have a roommate for summer housing.
Questions About the Summer Housing schedule
Payment & Fees
You are responsible for paying the full amount of your contracted time regardless of whether you stay the entire time. You may not change any weeks already contracted for, but you can add upcoming weeks through Wednesday of the preceding week. If you are unsure about your length of stay, only sign up for the minimal amount of weeks and add later.
Rooms will be inspected and damages or cleaning charges will be assessed to you. You will be billed for replacing an unreturned room key. Long-term "guests" are considered an abuse and could result in cancellation of your contract.
Move In/Move Out/Key Pickup
Students must move out for any week(s) they have not signed up. Move out is noon on Sunday. This means that all of your belongings must be out of the room and the room closed and locked by this time. Move in to new rooms starts at 2 p.m. You may pick up keys from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Clark Hall key kiosk.
(THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS FROM 2017 AND IS FOR REFERENCE. DATES AND FEES MAY HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED)
You must be on a meal plan. There is no longer a non-meal plan option. If you have any dietary concerns, please contact Dining Services at 413-585-2300 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are allowing students approved for extended housing to stay in their academic year rooms until Commencement. Students not approved for extended housing must sign up for summer housing for those two weeks.
If you are a student living on campus during the summer, you may store no more than five items in John M. Greene storage. This is short-term storage, and all items stored must be retrieved by the end of the first week of fall classes. Each item should be visibly and clearly labeled with your full name, class year, date stored and date you are returning to campus. The storage facility is in the basement of John M. Greene Hall. You may check-in at the back steps of JMG during posted times to store your items. Additional hours are posted on the web site as they become available. If you have additional questions about JMG storage, you may contact Hannah Durrant at email@example.com.
Please note: Smith College is not liable for missing or damaged items that are stored in trunk rooms. In addition, Smith College is not liable for use of off-campus storage options nor does the college endorse particular vendors.
