Mountain Neighborhood

Cutter House

The Mountain neighborhood has the greatest range in architectural design and house size. Most of the houses are close to downtown. Capen is a beautiful residence with an equally stunning flower garden. Gillett and Northrop house first-year students through seniors and both are home to vegetarian/vegan dining halls. Talbot and Lamont are larger residences, and Lamont has a gazebo-style dining hall. Cutter and Ziskind Houses, built in 1957 in the International style, were extensively renovated a few years ago.

Mountain Neighborhood Interim Area Director

Britany grew up in rural southwestern Pennsylvania, about an hour southeast of Pittsburgh.  She graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2013 with a B.A. in English, and then an M.A. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2015.  While at IUP, Britany worked as a graduate assistant supporting student organizations, Student Government, and campus traditions.  Most recently, Britany worked in student activities/union at Keene State College in New Hampshire.

Professional Interests

As a first-generation college student, various aspects of college were challenging and incredibly rewarding, which led me to a career in higher education.  While certain things were a struggle, I also discovered myself and my passions through my involvements on campus.  In turn, I want to be a part of supporting students and helping them to discover their own paths during this transformational time of their lives.  On a smaller scale, I'm passionate about achieving this through mentoring, supervising, and advising students through campus involvement opportunities.  I'm also interested in supporting graduate students and new professionals as they embark on their journeys into the student affairs profession.

Personal Interests

When not at work, you can probably find me spending time with my partner and our golden retriever Bailey, our family/friends, or exploring a new restaurant or tiny New England town.  I also love checking out all of the vintage shops in the region, the beach, reading, landscape photography, and going to different shows (drag, theatre, comedy, poetry).

Favorite Place on Campus

I'm new to campus, so I'm still learning!  But so far, I enjoy the pond area and gardens!
