Residence life is part of Smith’s co-curricular environment that enhances and enriches the academic program. Students come from varied backgrounds, and the house community provides a supportive, social environment for them to learn about and appreciate one another’s experiences and differences.

January 2020 Interterm
J-term begins on Sunday, January 5, with houses opening at 1 p.m.
- Returning students registered for an approved J Term course may pick up their keys at Clark Hall on Janusry 5 from 1-4 p.m.
- Returning students registered for an approved Five College Class may pick up their keys at Clark Hall on January 20 from 1-4 p.m
- Transfers, re-admits and other returning students may pick up their keys at Clark Hall beginning January 23 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and during regular business hours throughout J-term.

Room Change Request Form
The Spring 2020 Room Change Request Form will open on Monday, February 10 at 10 a.m. This form is time sensitive; all requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited; completing the form does not guarantee a room change. All students who are still on the Fall 2019 Room Change Request list will be automatically transferred to the Spring 2020 Room Change Request list.
Special Lottery Applications
Anyone wishing to move into Chase Substance-Free, Friedman Apartments, Co-ops, Affinity Housing and Off-Campus needs to enter the Special Lottery. Applications for the Special Lotteries will open February 3 and close on February 13. The forms will be available on your Res Life Self-Service page under the "Forms and Applications" tab. Housing Accommodation Form
Students with housing accommodations will need to complete the Housing Accommodation Form to snure their accommodations continue for the foloowing year. This form will open on your Res Life Self-Service page on February 1 and will close on February 17.
Houses will close at 10 a.m. on March 14 and re-open at 1 p.m. on March 22. Anyone who wishes to remain on campus for the Spring Break *must* complete the Spring Break form (regardless of whether or not you are exempt for the Spring Break fee.) The One Cards of anyone not signed up to remain on campus will be deactivated. The form will open on February 15 and close on March 8 and can be found on your Res Life Self-Service page.The fee to remain on campus is $60.
