Choosing a college is perhaps the biggest decision you’ve had to work through with your daughter. And though she’ll be the one doing the studying, you also have a major stake in her choice of a college. You want the best for your daughter, a place where she'll be challenged yet comfortable, where she’ll have the space to dream and reach for her goals.
To find that college, you’ll want to ask questions: Will the college offer my daughter intellectual challenge? Will the faculty take the time to get to know and mentor her? Are the facilities top-notch? Is the campus welcoming? And although she’s just starting to look at colleges, naturally you're wondering what she will do after graduation.
For more than a century, Smith graduates have emerged as strong women prepared to lead lives of distinction. Alumnae cite the skills and abilities honed by a Smith education as crucial to the personal and professional success they experience.
From boardrooms in New York City to archaeological digs in Peru, at the jeweler’s workbench and on the judge's bench, behind microscopes, in front of television cameras and at the helm of their own businesses, you will find Smith women everywhere as leaders and entrepreneurs, making a difference in their communities and professions.
Young women come to Smith for an exceptional education; they leave with a roadmap for life. At Smith, students get to freely explore everything about who they are and what they want to be—in the classroom, on the campus and out in the world. Your daughter will join a diverse community, collaborate with faculty who really care about her, live and learn on a beautiful campus with first-rate facilities, gain opportunities for promising career paths and connect with a powerful alumnae network.
