Held each fall, Family Weekend allows the college to give participating families a taste of life at Smith. The weekend includes open classes, social events, an afternoon tea, and a student theater production.
Family Weekend 2019 will be held October 25–27. Registration will open in early September. If you have any questions about Family Weekend, please contact the Office of Student Affairs at 413-585-4940 or email Debby Ghezzi.
Upon arrival and up until 5 p.m. on Friday, family members and friends of Smith students visiting for Family Weekend should plan to park in metered parking spaces or on side streets surrounding the campus. Meters have varying fees and time limits in different locations, so please read the instructions on each meter at which you choose to park. Side streets in neighborhoods surrounding the campus also have limitations, so please pay attention to signage posted where you park. The City of Northampton will ticket illegally parked cars.
From 5 p.m. on Friday, until 6 a.m. on Monday, family members and friends may also park in campus parking lots in white lined spaces.
Given the nature of on-campus dining at Smith, family members and friends visiting for Family Weekend should plan to dine off campus or in the Campus Center Café, except for Sunday Brunch, when each Smith student may have two guests join them in a house. Additional guests can pay at the door for Sunday Brunch. Sunday Brunch times and locations are listed on the Family Weekend schedule of events.
