About the Junior Dean

Frazer Ward

Frazer Ward is the dean of the junior class. He is associate professor in Smith's art department, where he teaches classes on contemporary art. He holds a bachelor's and a master's in English literature from the University of Sydney, and a doctorate in art history from Cornell University. He is the author of No Innocent Bystanders: Performance Art and Audience (Dartmouth College Press, 2012). As a student, Ward worked in a number of professional kitchens and still enjoys cooking. He can sometimes be found bicycling on local roads, or looking for golf balls he has hit into the trees.
