Catherine McCune, former visiting professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Smith, is the center’s inaugural director. McCune received her doctoral degree in mathematics at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She came to Smith College after post-doctoral positions at the Technische Universitaet Berlin and the University of Connecticut at Storrs, where she pursued research in the theory of minimal surfaces.

Calculus Counselor

Se Ho Kwak is a doctoral candidate in economics at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Se has taught economics at UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, and Colby College. His field of study is theoretical economics, in particular how to represent heterodox/radical economic ideas with mathematical language.

Data Research and Statistics Counselor

Kenneth Jeong is a current PhD candidate in economics at the University of Massachusetts. Kenneth holds a bachelor's in political science and a master's degree in sociology. Kenneth has familiarity with survey data, survey methodology, and models that are common both inside and outside of economics. He can help with R, Stata, SPSS, & Excel.

Administrative Assistant

Myssie Casinghino is available in the Spinelli Center from 8:30 AM until 12 noon Monday through Friday. Myssie brings warmth and flexibility to her position, supporting tutors and students in a wide variety of ways.
