Sherrerd Center for Teaching & Learning
Founded in 2009 through a generous bequest from the family of Kathleen Compton Sherrerd ’54 and John J. F. Sherrerd, the Sherrerd Center for Teaching and Learning is a faculty-driven experiment in developing pedagogical excellence. Our distinctive approach harnesses insights from the learning sciences to foster deep learning in our classrooms and to build durable communities of practice across our campus. By framing teaching as an ongoing effort to learn with and from others, the Sherrerd Center supports instructors at all stages of their careers as they develop equitable, inclusive, and adaptable pedagogies for the twenty-first century classroom.
