June 7 Weekly CIRT Campus Update

CIRT Update

Published June 7, 2021

Dear students, staff and faculty:

Below, please find important campus, regional and national updates from the COVID-19 Incident Response Team (CIRT).

Campus Status

Over the past seven days, there have been zero positive cases of COVID-19 reported through the on-campus campus screening program. For more data on the screening program, please visit Coronavirus Screening.

Summer Guidelines

As a reminder, the college is now operating under its summer COVID-19 guidelines.

  • The college no longer requires that masks be worn outdoors. We welcome anyone who wishes to wear a mask to continue to do so. Masks must continue to be worn indoors regardless of vaccination status.
  • Students and employees in the college community asymptomatic screening program will be now tested once per week (Precollege Programs will have their own testing frequency).
  • Physical distancing and room capacity limitations are rescinded.

Further information on fall planning and providing proof-of-vaccination will be shared with the community this week.

New Season, New Lanyards!

During summer mode, students have new lanyards. On-campus students in the testing program have been given navy blue lanyards, and off-campus students in the testing program have been given red lanyards. Faculty and staff will keep their gold lanyards.

Community Forums

We will continue to hold community forums through the summer. The upcoming June 16 forum will also include more information about our planning for the fall semester. We look forward to seeing you at meetings on the following dates:

  • June 16
  • June 30
  • July 14
  • July 28

As always, please send any questions to covid19info@smith.edu
