The Office for International Students and Scholars (ISSO) enhances and supports the educational, cultural and social dimension of international education at Smith College. We promote a diverse learning environment, support essential services and programs, and assist international students in meeting their educational and career goals.
Our Staff
Caitlin Szymkowicz

Associate Dean
Dean Caitlin works with international students to provide advice on all matters pertaining to immigration, visas, foreign travel, passports, work authorization, practical training programs and personal and financial problems.
Nathan Hammond

Student Enrollment and Program Manager
Nathan serves as a bridge to the Office of International Study and the International Students & Scholars Office. He is also available for general immigration questions and can be a resource to international students on campus.
Laura Gomez
Administrative Assistant
Laura oversees the programs and events of the Lewis Center. She supports the international student preorientation program (ISP) as well as events and workshops throughout the year which encourage cultural sharing and provide space for conversations on world events and global issues.
Sue Pouliot 

Budget and Enrollment Coordinator
Sue oversees the Lewis Center budgets, including that of the ISSO. She can assist with emergency fund requests or any study abroad financial questions.
