Biography

Manbir Kaur’s research interests are broadly in experimental high energy particle physics and astrophysics. Her research interests lie in finding and exploring discrepancies between the Standard Model (SM), which describes the fundamental particles and their interactions, and experimental observations in the search for new physics beyond the SM. She analyzed several petabytes of data from the U.S. Department of Energy’s 1.96 TeV Tevatron collider in order to reconstruct the sequence of particle interactions and thus study the origin of the universe. She wants to continue her research as recently there have been exciting indications of new physics for both particle physics and cosmology in the areas of dark matter searches.
