The following statistics offer a glimpse of the students who make up the Smith College Class of 2011.

They graduate during Smith’s 133rd commencement ceremony Sunday, May 15, at 10 a.m. in the Quadrangle at the corner of Elm Street and Paradise Road.

693 Baccalaureate Degree Recipients

  • 680 bachelor of arts degrees
  • 13 bachelor of science degrees
  • 151 undergraduate degree recipients are double-majors
  • 44 states are represented
  • 27 countries are represented
  • 5 most popular majors in descending order: psychology; government; economics; art (includes art history, art studio, architecture and urbanism); English.
  • 43 are Ada Comstock Scholars (women of nontraditional age)
  • 63 years is the age of the oldest graduating Ada.
  • 23 years is the age of the youngest graduating Ada.

74 Advanced Degree Candidates

  • 51 master’s degrees
  • 11 diplomas in American Studies
  • 12 certificiates of graduate study

Looking Ahead: Smith College Class of 2015

  • 4,128 first-year applications, the largest number in Smith’s history
  • 1,877 applicants were admitted
