Rallying Together for Financial Aid Support
Published February 1, 2022
This month, The Smith Fund is in hot pursuit of 2,022 donors whose gifts will honor the class of 2022 and provide more financial aid to Smith students. If we hit our goal—and we did last year—the board of trustees will match all gifts made to The Smith Fund, dollar for dollar, up to $450,000. When you and your fellow alums give this month, your gift will have double the impact!
The Rally for Smith giving challenge is inspired by Rally Day, which is being held virtually this year on February 24. A cherished Smith tradition, Rally Day is a time to celebrate distinguished Smith alums who are receiving the Smith College Medal and to honor our seniors who are wearing their graduation robes—and inventive hats—for the first time.
This year, Smith is honoring four amazing alums who have made a difference in the lives of many:
- Jane Lakes Harman ’66 is a global security expert and former U.S. Representative.
- S. Mona Ghosh Sinha ’88 is an advocate for gender equality.
- Deborah Archer ’93 is a civil rights leader and current president of the American Civil Liberties Union.
- Jessie Banhazl ’06 is an entrepreneur and founder of Green City Growers.
As these pioneering graduates receive their honor, your gift will provide financial aid to our student community to ensure that the brightest, most ambitious students have the means to attend and thrive at Smith regardless of their financial status. They are our future Smith Medalists.
To make a donation go to GiveCampus, where you can also sign up as an advocate. Being an advocate gives you a unique donation link to share with your friends and classmates. The GiveCampus platform lets you look at the gift activity from your unique link so you can keep track of your team’s collective efforts.
Rally for Smith by donating to The Smith Fund and directing your support to financial aid. With your gift, you’ll be changing lives, one amazing Smith student at a time.
