Can You Imagine? Imagining Wisdom in the Bible and the Future

How do we get ready for the future? Expanding the imagination is one of the best ways to cultivate creativity and resilience. The imagination can be trained, and the sages of ancient Israel knew this. The wisdom literature of the Hebrew Bible offers an education for the imagination that might also offer something to contemporary readers considering the future.    

Dr. Anne Stewart ’05 (M.Div., Princeton Theological Seminary and PhD, Emory University) is Vice President for External Relations at Princeton Theological Seminar. As an undergraduate at Smith, Anne majored in religion was a two-time winner of the department's Henry Foote Memorial Prize in biblical studies.   Prior to joining Princeton Theological Seminay, she served as a visiting assistant professor of Old Testament at Louisville Seminary, as a Mellon Teaching Fellow at Agnes Scott College, and as an adjunct instructor at Candler School of Theology.

At PTS, Anne is responsible for developing strong relationships with the Seminary’s external constituencies, including the stewardship of relationships with foundations. She also oversees the director of enrollment management, and provide leadership and strategic vision for the Seminary’s admissions, recruitment, and financial aid team.  She is in involved in the development and implementation of the Seminary’s message and communication strategy, supervising the director of communication and marketing and providing leadership and strategic vision for the communication team.
