Remote and On-Campus Experiences Offered for Summer 2021
Explore your academic interests while learning more about yourself. Join other motivated high school students who want to be engaged, get inspired and expand their experiences both in and out of the classroom. Whether you choose to apply for a remote learning option or the on-campus experience, you will be a part of a supportive community led by Smith faculty and staff and supported by our undergraduate students. Or take advantage of our year-round remote programs, including Precollege Community and Precollege Crash Courses. All programs are for young women, female-identified or gender-nonconforming students who will be entering grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 in fall 2021.
Important COVID-19 Information
We understand the heightened concerns students and families have surrounding COVID-19. To ensure the safety of our community, Smith College is closely monitoring developments and adjusting our on-campus program policies as necessary. At this time, we plan to hold a small two-week session of Precollege Programs and are excited to welcome students to campus. We are committed to offering a safe program for our precollege students and the Smith Community.
We will be in regular contact with applicants and admitted students with information related to COVID-19 and new developments that may affect the program. Applicants will be notified if the on-campus program is canceled because of coronavirus concerns, and their candidacy will be reviewed for our remote learning program. Admitted students who paid the enrollment deposit will be automatically switched to the online program and refunded the cost difference. Students who do not wish to participate in our remote learning program will receive a 50 percent refund of their enrollment deposit.
The on-campus Summer Precollege Program experience is being developed in the spirit of Smith’s COVID-19 Culture of Care and in keeping with local, state and federal guidelines. We will continue to update information leading up to our summer programs.
