Biography

Dr. Weiling Deng is an Adjunct Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies in the Core Division at Champlain College. She has a Ph.D. in social sciences and comparative education from UCLA, with specialization in gender, sexuality, and women’s movement in modern China. Her teaching and research weave together multiple scholarly fields, including transnational feminism, gender in media, urban humanities, modern Chinese history, Asian American studies, critical oceanic studies, and digital research methods. Her current book project studies the embodied translation of feminist movements in and beyond China through intercity walk, radical theater, protest art, work-based relocation, immigration, and internet-mediated activist mobilization.
