Biography

Midwest dance maker, doer and educator Francesca Baron received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Psychology from Lindenwood University after which she established herself as a dance artist in Chicago. She has commissioned work for Lindenwood University, College of Dupage, NewDances hosted by Danceworks Chicago + Thodos Dance Chicago, and Esoteric Dance Project. Other original works have been presented at Going Dutch Elgin Fringe Festival, Still Inspired, FUSED (co-produced evening of works), Inaside Chicago Dance, Midwest Dance Collective and festivals including American College Dance Association, Chi Dance Fest, and A New Light Festival.

Francesca enjoys the process of learning. She has attended numerous intensives to further enrich her practices including: One Body, One Career with Anouk van Dijk, LINK hosted by Salt Contemporary Dance, The Cambrians, FACT S/F, Keigwin + Co, River North Dance Chicago, and the American Dance Festival.

She has performed with Still Inspired, Stilgo Dance + Tech, Inaside Chicago Dance, Leverage Dance Theater, Visceral Dance Chicago, Trifecta Dance Collective and Project606 Dance among other various freelance projects.

Francesca is drawn to dance because it allows for dynamic expression. Intellectually she values complexity and connection. Physically she values big sweeping movement, finding rigor to yield both an empowering and freeing sensation.
