Where is your favorite spot on campus?
Two of my favorite places on campus are the Haven-Wesley study and Hillyer Library. The Haven-Wesley study, a glass-enclosed room overlooking Paradise Pond and Chapin lawn, has become a memorable space for spending time with friends, where we've enjoyed watching shows/movies and participated in group pomodoro sessions. Additionally, Hillyer Library’s serene ambience, natural lighting, and tranquility, fosters a space for learning, reflection, and productive work sessions.
Is there a piece of advice you wish you could go back and tell yourself as a first-year?
I would offer myself a couple of pointers: create sustainable routines, be adaptable, give yourself grace, and practice gratitude. For instance, being adaptable and open-minded has empowered me to explore new disciplines and environments, while critically examining and challenging preconceived notions. This mindset has instilled a positive and proactive attitude towards uncertainty, enabling me to embrace redirection and demonstrate resourcefulness in the face of adversity.
Looking ahead to a decade from now, what's something you'd like to have achieved?
God willingly, I aspire to have established a solid foundation for myself and my family. I hope to have contributed positively to my community, perhaps by offering educational or financial advising, in addition to fulfilling a career in the public sector.
