Melinda Stoops ’89, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist, executive coach, and higher education strategist with over two decades of leadership experience across public and private institutions. She brings a blend of clinical insight, strategic perspective, and knowledge of group dynamics to her work with individuals and organizations navigating change.
Melinda has held senior roles at Boston College and Framingham State University, where she led initiatives in student wellness, Title IX compliance, and strategic planning. During her work in higher education, she served on the national board of her professional association (NASPA) and was recognized as a Pillar of the Profession by this group.
After losing her job in 2025 as part of a reorganization, Melinda moved forward as an independent practitioner and established an LLC to provide a framework for her roles as coach, consultant, psychotherapist, and speaker. Melinda is the author of the book The Reluctant Free Agent: Navigating the Loss of a Job, and she provides pro bono support and career transition resources for people who have lost their jobs, including a LinkedIn newsletter and associated podcast.
