E. Ahmet Tonak

Biography

Ertuğrul Ahmet Tonak teaches courses on political economy, Marxist economics, and political ecology. He previously taught for many years at Bard College at Simon’s Rock, İstanbul Bilgi University, and Middle East Technical University, Turkey. He was recently also a visiting professor at UMass Amherst and Hampshire College.

He was a founding editor of New Perspectives on Turkey and a member of the Review of Radical Political Economics editorial board. He is currently completing two book projects entitled In the Tracks of Marx’s Capital: Debates in Marxian Political Economy and Lessons for 21st Century Capitalism (Palgrave Macmillan) and The History of Thesis Eleven (Agora).
