Biography
Celadry June Humphries is a theatre maker, creative writer, carpenter, and dancer. At Smith, she serves as the assistant technical director and shop manager for the theatre department, teaching students the skills needed to build scenery, repair furniture, and problem-solve issues that may arise during the creation of the physical world of a play. In addition to her work at Smith, she teaches Rueda de Casino, a style of Cuban salsa, at Mount Holyoke and in Northampton. She has a B.A. in creative writing and technical theatre from Hampshire College, and uses creative writing to explore themes of storytelling, gender, queerness, and non-traditional family.
