Biography
Aprile Gallant is the associate director of curatorial affairs and senior curator of prints, drawings, and photographs at Smith College Museum of Art (SCMA). A specialist in mid-century American prints, she has worked in the museum field for over 25 years, organizing exhibitions and managing diverse collections of prints, drawings and photographs. She has been at SCMA since 2002. She serves as the head of the museum’s five-person curatorial department and the administrator of the Cunningham Center for the Study of Prints, Drawings and Photographs. Gallant received her undergraduate degree from Colgate University, and a master’s from Oberlin College. Prior to 2002, she was the curator of prints, drawings and photographs at the Portland Museum of Art in Maine.
