Contactless Pickup and Five College Lending Changes August 12, 2020

Contactless Pickup and Five College Lending Changes August 12, 2020

Dear staff and faculty:

Smith College Libraries are expanding access to library materials in the following ways:

Fall Course Prep

Request library resources be added to a Moodle course page by using the reserves request form. Library staff will digitize material from the collection and acquire new resources for your teaching including scans of book chapters, DVDs and providing stable links to online resources. Working with the Libraries’ staff ensures that materials meet copyright and accessibility guidelines. Please submit your syllabus with the request and we will prioritize materials to be ready by the date they are needed. Faculty who are preparing courses for the fall may write to libraryhelp@smith.edu for support using library resources.

Change in Contactless Pickup Location to Bass Hall Entrance

Starting on Monday, August 17, contactless pickup will be available in the lobby of Bass Hall, in front of the main entrance to the Young Library. This location is accessible to all. Enter Bass Hall through the doors facing Burton lawn. Hours for pickup are still 10am-4pm but will be expanded soon.

Five College Library Materials

Starting on Monday, August 17, you will be able to request items from the other four colleges. Requested items will be delivered to the Young Library and quarantined like all other library materials. You will receive an email when they are ready for pickup. See Library Services During COVID-19 for all contactless pickup details.
