Faculty Approved for Tenure and Promotion

At its meeting in February, the Smith College Board of Trustees approved tenure and promotion recommendations for 14 faculty members, effective July 1.

Promoted to associate professor with tenure were Andrew Berke, chemistry; Patricia Cahn, mathematics and statistics; Jennifer DeClue, study of women and gender; Randi Garcia, psychology and statistical and data sciences; Niveen Ismail, engineering; Jamie Macbeth, computer science; Jessica Moyer, Chinese language and literature; Javier Puente, Latin American and Latino/a studies; Vis Taraz, economics; and Rory Crath, School for Social Work.

Promoted to professor were Chris Aiken, dance; Sergey Glebov, history; Marguerite Itamar Harrison, Spanish and Portuguese; and Angie Hauser, dance.

President Kathleen McCartney congratulated the faculty members on their “well deserved promotions.”
