Faculty Approved for Tenure and Promotion
At its meeting in February, the Smith College Board of Trustees approved tenure and promotion recommendations for 14 faculty members, effective July 1.
Promoted to full professor were Ibtissam Bouachrine, Spanish and Portuguese; Darcy Buerkle, history; Justin Cammy, Jewish studies; Katwiwa Mule, world literatures; Lucy Mule, education and child study; and Maria Helena Rueda, Spanish and Portuguese.
Promoted to associate professor with tenure were Maren Buck, chemistry; Jordan Crouser, computer science; Kris Dorsey, engineering; Lisa Mangiamele, biological sciences; Miles Ott, statistical and data sciences; and Candice Price, mathematics and statistics.
Appointed as professor with tenure was Luca Capogna, mathematics and statistics.
Promoted to senior laboratory instructor was Marney Pratt, biological sciences.
President Kathleen McCartney congratulated the faculty members on their “well deserved promotions.”
