Senior Dance Concert a Range of Choreography Styles

Six senior dance majors will present choreographed works in a variety of movement vocabularies, from neo-classical ballets en pointe to contact duets and everything in between during the annual Senior Dance Concert, titled “Happenings,” with performances April 12 through 14, at 8 p.m. in Hallie Flanagan Studio Theatre.

Admission is $9 general, $5 for students/seniors.

The program will includes a duet exploring the grieving process, choreographed by Angelica Falcinelli and accompanied by violinist Nicole Glotzer; a solo in contemporary ballet that plays with geometry and space, choreographed and performed by Eliza Kalm; a solo of high-energy dance fusion choreographed and performed by Melissa King; a performance piece mixing dance and video that highlights injustice in North Korea, created by In Kyung Lee; two dances choreographed by Danielle Pite, including a solo en pointe embodying a bird trapped in cage, and a group choreography inspired by principles of quantum mechanics. Lucia Young will present a dance exploring closeness and boundaries between people and objects expressed through a highly physical contact duet.
