Professor Reid Bertone-Johnson Shares How Smith College Established a Land Conservation for the MacLeish Field Station

Landscape Studies Professor Reid Bertone-Johnson, and former manager of Smith College's Ada and Archibald MacLeish Field Station, presented this week at the Friends of Lake Warner and Mill River Watershed Summit. Reid shared the story about the multi-year long partnership among Ruth Constantine, former VP of Finance and Administration at Smith, the Kestrel Land Trust, the Living Building Challenge, Reid, and numerous students to protect ninety percent of the Field Station's 260 acres from any future development by placing it in conservation restriction.
