Home to more than 160 students, Cutter-Ziskind, a housing complex on Elm Street, is in the beginning stages of a two-year renovation that will preserve the structure’s architectural style while updating interiors and improving energy efficiency.
The renovations, which began in March, are scheduled for completion by fall 2014. Most of the work is scheduled to take place during this summer and next summer; and to ensure that Cutter-Ziskind residents are not displaced, the academic-year construction schedule is based around breaks in classes.
Heavy machinery occupies the parking lot in front of Cutter House.
Work begins on the exterior of Ziskind House.
