The Alumnae House was filled with soon-to-be alums as graduating seniors, Alumnae Relations and Development staff, and local alums came together for this year's Senior Soirée. The celebratory event welcomed seniors into the alum community.
This year’s soirée theme was “Cherry Bomb,” coinciding with the class color: red. Two hundred and thirty students and alums attended.
Students learned about resources available to them after they graduate, such as access to The Network, LinkedIn Learning, and job boards, as well as ways to stay connected to the college and other alums through events, local clubs, Reunion, and more. Representatives from the Lazarus Center, the Alum Career Program, The Smith Fund, the Student Philanthropy Team, and more staffed tables with information about ways they can help new alums.
“The event is centered on joy and celebration and encourages seniors to stay involved and utilize resources. I hope they leave the event knowing that their relationship with the Smith community continues on after graduation and, in many ways, expands!”
Reflecting on her experience and learning about post-graduation resources, Sam Sondik ’26 shared, “It’s nice to know it [the Office of Alumnae Relations and Development] is here and we’re not alone.” Molly Morse-Belcher ’26 described the Senior Soirée as a “really good connecting event.” She also said her favorite part was the, “educational aspect and the resources being given to future alums.”
The most important tip for seniors: Update your contact info with the college so you get news and stay connected. All alums can join The Network, Smith’s easy-to-use career hub and alum directory. There, alums can also volunteer as a mentor to help Smith students get a head start in their careers.
