This lecture will inform students, faculty, and staff about how privacy and surveillance affect them, the risks around them, and what they can do to empower themselves to advocate for change and protect their own privacy. Highlighting the push towards AI adoption in higher ed as a part of expanding surveillance, Purdue University professor Lindsay Weinberg, the author of Smart University: Student Surveillance in the Digital Age, has been invited to speak on the timely topic of how digital surveillance is impacting students in the context of higher education.
