Caitlin Daniel, Lecturer in Sociology and Research Scholar at Harvard University and Smith College alumna ('06) will discuss how across the socioeconomic spectrum, parents use food to protect their children from the risks of increasing income inequality--and how different feeding practices emerge depending on the risks families face, the resources they command, and the meaning they ascribe to food, family and childhood.
Sponsored by the Sociology, Religion and Environmental Science and Policy departments and the Environmental Concentration at Smith College with support from the Lecture Committee.
