Planned Mode Change
CIRT Update
Published February 26, 2021
Dear students, staff and faculty:
We now have more than 1,100 students on campus after completing a month-long arrival and quarantine program. During this time, we have been operating in blue mode. Our community has done exceptionally well following the Culture of Care expectations, and we thank you and applaud your efforts.
On Monday, March 1, the college will move to yellow OR green mode. The new mode will be communicated Sunday evening by text alert, email and a website update. We will make the final decision based on campus testing data, community data and an assessment of Smith community compliance with health and safety guidance.
Please note that any incidents—including unauthorized gatherings or violations of our Culture of Care Plan by any member of our community—will force the college to select a more restrictive operating mode and will result in disciplinary action.
We’d like to close by again thanking every member of our community for the continued efforts to ensure our health and safety. Please keep up the good work, and we’ll be in touch Sunday evening with an update on our next mode.
With gratitude,
COVID-19 Incident Response Team (CIRT)
