October 12 Weekly CIRT Campus Update
CIRT Update
Published October 12, 2021
Dear students, staff and faculty:
Below, please find important campus, regional and national updates from the COVID-19 Incident Response Team (CIRT).
Campus Status
Over the past seven days, there have been four positive cases of COVID-19 reported through the on-campus campus screening program. For more data on the screening program, please visit Coronavirus Screening.
Testing Center Hours
The testing center will be open on Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week of October 11–15, 2021. Please remember to schedule your test and arrive during your reserved time slot.
Reminder: Tents Not Reservable by Employees
As a reminder, outdoor tents cannot be reserved by faculty or staff for any events or listed as the location for upcoming events (including academic presentations of the major). Those events that have been listed with outdoor tents as a location must be changed to a different location that can be reserved in advance. Tents remain first-come, first-served and open for the entire community before 7 p.m. After 7 p.m., student organizations may reserve tents for student-run events. Facilities and ITS cannot provide support for any events held in tents.
Reminder: Students Must Get Two COVID Tests During Fall Break Week
Students: Regardless of your travel plans, you are still expected to test twice during the week of October 11–15, 2021. For those students who chose to travel, the following restrictions will be in place:
- Masks must be worn indoors at all times in public spaces regardless of whether or not your destination requires it.
- Upon returning to campus from travel, students must receive a COVID-19 test on their day of arrival and then again during that week to be in compliance.
- Meals must be grab-and-go until the second negative test result is received.
- Masks are required for outdoor gatherings and classes until the second negative test result is received.
Booster Update
The college is tracking the approval process of COVID-19 booster shots through the CDC and FDA. On September 24, the CDC issued guidance regarding Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 boosters.
At this time, the college is strongly recommending those eligible for a booster shot to receive one through their local pharmacy or primary care provider. Students who are eligible for a booster and unable to access one locally should reach out to the Schacht Center for Health and Wellness.
