Important: Change to COVID-19 On-Campus Isolation Policy and Masking Policy

CIRT Update

Published May 4, 2022

Dear students,

Due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases on campus and the unavailability of the Ellery, we are moving immediately to an isolate-in-place model for positive cases and reinstating mandatory masking in residential spaces

Under this policy, students who test positive for COVID-19 will isolate in their rooms if and only if they are in a single-occupancy room or they are in a double-occupancy room and their roommate has also tested positive. KN-95 or N-95 masks will be provided to any students entering isolation. Students isolating in place should remain in their rooms, except to use the restroom and collect their meals, and must remain masked at all times outside of their rooms. Details of the isolate-in-place policy, including details about dining and bathroom usage, will be sent to students who test positive between now and the end of the semester.

Additionally, masking is now required in all residential spaces and all indoor senior week events. The masking policy will remain in place until Commencement.

Students who are able to safely travel in a private vehicle are encouraged to isolate at their off-campus home after consulting with staff from the Schacht Center for Health and Wellness.
