About the Program

Students at Lazarus Center workshop

Smith College's Business Preparedeness Program is an online community of learning and 3.5-day onsite session for college women to pursue foundational business skills.

Inside the classroom, a hands-on, collaborative learning environment lets you directly engage with world-class scholars who help you pursue your passions and develop new skills. Our business preparedness intensive prepares you to feel ready, accountable and valued in your workplace, through a one-year online content, mentorship and 3.5 days on-site at Smith College. Outside the classroom during the intensive, enjoy Smith’s beautiful setting, live in a house on campus, make new friends and have a great time joining in on fun activities.

Accepting women who will be entering their sophomore, junior or senior year of college.

Partner your liberal arts education with practical and vital business skills to feel present, productive and authentic in your internship and post-college career. Online and in-person sessions provide tools to:

  • Develop and analyze business cases
  • Understand and use basic financial documents
  • Concisely communicate your ideas
  • Analyze data
  • Work effectively in teams with hands-on projects
  • Expand self-awareness and professional presence
  • Build a network of professional women who can support you throughout your career
