Tian An Wong's research focus is in number theory and representation theory, specifically problems related to automorphic forms, trace formulae, and L-functions in the context of the Langlands Program. Prior to Smith, Wong has taught and worked at Xiamen University Malaysia, the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, the Indian Institute for Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, Vassar College and the City University of New York (CUNY). They are also interested in critical pedagogy and antiracist mathematics.
