Biography

Robert Weir returned to Smith in 2005 after several years of teaching at Bay Path College. He also teaches at The University of Massachusetts Amherst and has taught at Mount Holyoke College and Mount Ida College. He was a senior Fulbright scholar in New Zealand and is currently the executive secretary of the Northeast Popular/American Culture Association and an associate editor of the Historical Journal of Massachusetts. Weir has published seven books on American social and labor history, as well as dozens of journal articles, reviews and book chapters.
