Kelly Vogel’s main interest is improving the way students learn, with an emphasis on supporting executive function and self-regulation. She is the Jacobson Center Learning specialist and coordinator of tutorial services, and is a lecturer of IDP 136: Applied Learning Strategies. She offers academic counseling in the Jacobson Center and leads workshops on strategies to help students refine their academic capabilities.
Vogel received her bachelor's degree in English from Syracuse University and her master's in English literature from Mills College. After more than 15 years as a teacher of English literature and composition, she pursued course work in educational psychology, shifting her academic focus to support student agency, engagement and autonomy—keys to student learning both inside the classroom and out.
