Biography

James Sacré taught at Smith from 1972 until 2001. Now living in Montpellier, France, he is mainly working at poetry projects (books, poetry readings and participation in periodicals). He continues to study and write about sixteen French poets, modern poetry, language and literature. He continues also to nourish his writings with landscapes, cities and persons encountered in countries where he spends or has spent a lot of his time (the United States, Morroco, Italy, Spain and France). His poetry has been published by Le Seuil, Gallimard, André Dimanche, Tarabuste, Le dé bleu, Obsidiane and a number of small presses.
