Biography

Ab Mosca is an assistant teaching professor at Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University. They teach intro computer science and data science courses, as well as upper-level electives in data visualization. Their research interest is visualization for communication. They are interested in looking for new and innovative ways to use visualization to communicate messages to society at large and to better support decision-making. Before Northeastern, Ab earned their Ph.D. in Computer Science from Tufts University (2021). At Tufts, they worked with Remco Chang in the Visual Analytics Lab @ Tufts ([v]alt). During their graduate studies, Ab interned with the National Renewable Energy Lab and In-Q-Tel Labs. Prior to Tufts, they worked for Mathematica Policy Research as a data associate and graduated from Smith College with a A.B. in Mathematics in 2014. Outside of the classroom, Ab is a lover of the outdoors and likes to spend time running, biking and camping.
