Smith College Mail Services, located on the garden level of the Campus Center, handles all student, faculty and staff mail services.

News & Announcements

Students: Students who have been approved for Smith residential housing for Fall semester 2020, will be able to pick up their letters and packages from the lockers at the Campus Center. The Student Mail pick-up counter and Retail counter will operate with limited hours, please review the hours of operation below.   If items arrive that cannot be loaded into lockers, Mail services will contact students directly to coordinate a pickup time. 

State & Federal Election Ballots Sent to Students: Please be advised that if you are NOT approved for Smith residential housing for Fall semester 2020,  all election ballots received will be returned to the sender. In most cases, these items will be returned to your local town election office. The USPS will not foward ballots. If you have any questions, please reach out directly to the Northampton USPS at 413-584-0960.

Students not approved for Smith residential housing Fall semester 2020:  Please be advised that any packages received at Mail services for students NOT approved for Smith residential housing during the Fall semester 2020 will be RTS (returned to sender).  All First-class domestic mail will continue to be forwarded.  All international mail will be RTS. Please review the notice regarding State & Federal Election Ballots above

Students approved for Smith residential housing Fall semester 2020:  Students who will be on campus for Fall 2020 semester, please ship personal items to your campus address no sooner than 1 seek prior to your arrival on campus.

Students in quarantine or isolation: Students who are in quarantine or isolation housing will be unable to retrieve items from Mail services during that period.  For extenuating circumstances such as receiving prescribed medication, students can call customer service at X2400 or enter a work order @

Faculty and Staff: Mail will be delivered to the normal drop-off locations on Tuesdays. Although outgoing campus mail will be picked up on Tuesdays, it will be metered and go out on Thursdays. If departments have specific mailing needs that are of an urgent nature, or would like to coordinate a mailing drop off on Monday or Thursday, please contact Sarah Marshall at for assistance.

Note: mail and packages come in bulk and need to be sorted. It may take up to 24 hrs before mail/packages are available.
