“Gathering Justice” Space for Reflection and Sharing, June 2, 2020

Dear students, staff and faculty:

As a nation, we continue to reel in the wake of the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Tony McDade and so many “sacred Black lives,” as my colleague Kim Alston called them at our virtual gathering earlier today. Thanks to all those who held space, contributed and witnessed. I felt your presence even over Zoom.

If you would like to continue the conversation or join us, I invite you to the next “Gathering Justice” space for reflection and sharing on Thursday, June 4, at 7 p.m. EDT. Here is the Zoom link, which will require a Smith sign-in: https://smith.zoom.us/j/91623369097

Whether you can join us or not, here are some resources that my team and I have curated to assist us in anti-racist self-education.

Yours,

Floyd Cheung
Vice President for Equity and Inclusion
