Strategic Planning for New and Existing Content (header)

- Review existing content for duplication
- Draft your content in a Google Doc, ignoring layout or visual presentation
- Contact webteam@smith.edu with this information, and the draft conten
We will review the request and collaborate with you on how to integrate this new or changed content.
Drupal Training and Support for In-Department (header)
- Contact webteam@smith.edu to setup a time for a training
- Before the training appointment, review the Drupal User Guide [link]
Introductory Drupal training takes about 30 minutes. Topics include:
- logging in to Drupal
- a general overview of the Drupal interface
- finding and editing existing content
The webteam will attempt to incorporate the pages you will be editing into the training. Once you have completed training, you will be able to perform content editing and updates on your own.
Some important caveats:
- We do not train student workers or temporary staff
- The webteam is responsible for uploading images and files
- Creating or removing pages, and editing menus is also the responsibility of the webteam
Content Edits and Changes for Offices Without a Trained Drupal Resource
- Prepare an email request to webteam@smith.edu
- If you have significant content, prepare final content before submitting the request
Include the following information in your email request:
- The URL(s) of the page(s) you wish to edit:
- The specific content on the page you wish to edit:
- “The Webteam has established a series of steps to support a manageable collaborative process.”
- The updated content:
- “The Webteam has established a series of guidelines and processes to support a manageable collaborative process.”
If the content is sufficiently long, prepare the new final content in a Google Doc shared with the webteam or attached in the request email.
