Razieh Fathi

Biography

Dr. Razieh Fathi is a visiting assistant professor in the department of computer science at Whitman College. Before joining Whitman, she has experience working at Rochester Institute of Technology and Smith College. She received a Ph.D. in computer science and engineering at the University at Buffalo. She also holds a master’s degree from SUNY Albany in Information Studies and a master’s in computer science from the College of Saint Rose. Her research has spanned a wide set of topics, covering computer science education, computational science, algorithmic thinking, visualization tools to teach graph algorithms, application of machine learning in neurocognition in teaching programming and algorithm concepts, and application of cognitive task analysis in algorithm learning. She has also conducted training and outreach activities in the Buffalo Public Schools.
