CIRT Update
Published September 13, 2021
Dear students, staff and faculty:
Below, please find important campus, regional and national updates from the COVID-19 Incident Response Team (CIRT).
Campus Status
Over the past seven days, there have been two positive case of COVID-19 reported through the on-campus campus screening program. For more data on the screening program, please visit please visit Coronavirus Screening.
Student and Employee Flu Shot Guidance
The college is working on obtaining flu vaccines for students and employees. Students will have priority for the vaccines, so employees are encouraged to get vaccines through local clinics or their primary care providers. Flu shot clinic times and locations will be announced as soon as possible.
Reminder: Mandatory Testing Before Returning to On-Campus Work
As a reminder, employees returning to on-campus work must receive a negative COVID-19 test result from the on-campus screening program. Tests should be scheduled three days before an employee’s return-to-campus date in order to accommodate the test turnaround time.
Campus Visitors
Guidance is now available regarding the vaccination guidance for different kinds of visitors to campus. There are three different categories: those who require formal proof of vaccination; those who must complete an attestation of having been vaccinated or having a formal exemption; and those who are not required to provide an attestation or proof of vaccination. Full details are available at https://www.smith.edu/covid19/guidelines-policies#visitorguidelines.
