A working group representing College Relations, Admission, Development, Alumnae Relations, ITS and other offices has partnered with Primacy, a Web development and design firm, to help us create a new website for the college that reflects Smith’s unique character and meets the needs of visitors to the site.

The Web has gone through extensive changes since Smith’s last comprehensive site redesign. Visitor expectations have become increasingly sophisticated, while new technologies have changed the way sites are created and maintained. To remain competitive and support the college’s communication objectives, a new smith.edu needs to respond to modern standards of navigation, accessibility, integration with social media and the increasing use of mobile devices.

The new site’s content-management system, based on the open-source Drupal platform, will also make it easier for those who administer or update sites to manage content, make changes, create forms and more.

Primacy and the working group are currently conducting research through interviews and surveys, and the Smith community is invited to participate. A survey covering topics such as navigation, ease of use, content and design is available online. The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete; all responses are confidential and personal information is not required.

To thank you for your participation, you’ll be eligible to win one of five $25 Amazon.com gift cards. If you wish to enter the prize giveaway, you will be asked to enter your email address. Your email address is not connected in any way to your responses and will only be used to notify prize winners.

Your input will provide invaluable help in shaping the Smith website.
